Then we are marching towards in front of the stage and read to go for rally. Before starting rally honourable SP of Barasat Police District Authority has delivered a valuable speech on Drug awareness and prevention and further it is followed by felicitation program to honorable guests. Then a street drama is performed by some youth of renowned organization to spread awareness about pros and cons of drug addiction in our society and paves the way for prevention with Tagline “Say No To Drugs”. \nWe start our rally towards 8 a.m. under the surveillance of state police\, RAF\, followed by Police Band party with joyous manner from Kanchari Maidan. In part of the program we distribute leaflets among people to spread awareness about drug addiction and prevention. Throughout the rally announcing with mike and various placards\, posters about drug addiction and prevention enhance the significance of this remarkable day. Our rally ends at Rabindra Bhawan and district police authority organize a program regarding drug addiction and prevention process. SP of Barasat Police District Authority delivers a valuable speech on pros and cons of drug addiction and its effect on society. A cultural dance performance is done by the representatives of Aradhana Social & Development Organization. Then a power point presentation and some educational videos regarding drug addiction and prevention are telecasted in projector. Hourable MLA of Barasat Mr. Chiranjeet Chakraborty also delivers a short speech regarding drug addiction and its prevention from his personal experience. Poly substance use\n(consumption of more than one substance at a period) is common among adolescents. \nLiterature shows that individuals with Adverse Childhood Experience are more prone to addiction.\nThis includes physical & sexual use\, emotional use\, incarcerated relative\, mother treated violently\,\nloss of a parent\, physical and emotional neglect. \nChildren and adolescents living in the street\, slums and homeless\, become particularly vulnerable to\nsubstance use in such high risk circumstances. Also\, the rate of help seeking behavior is low due to\nmany factors like lack of family and community support compared to others. It is always better to\nintervene before they initiate the substance use behavior. \nEnsuring active participation of young people\, they may be empowered to prevent and disseminate\ninformation on substance use prevention. Also for this\, there should be a strategy where young\npeople learn from each other and support themselves. Also\, schools were often providers of meals for children\, now leaving these children at risk of facing hunger with schools closed. With fears of hunger\, homelessness\, and certain hopelessness on the rise for this already vulnerable population\, they need us now more than ever. Together\, WE CAN OVERCOME! Together\, WE ARE STRONGER.
