This year’s Independence Day started a little differently at Aradhana Home. We began our Independence Day celebrations this year by observing a minute’s silence to mark the sudden death of the lady doctor at R G Kar Hospital. We pray for her soul to rest in peace and hope that justice is done soon.

The celebration began with the hoisting of the national flag by the president & the secretary of the Organisation, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem by the children of Aradhana Cottage home & Aradhana Open shelter. A patriotic speech was delivered by the president Mr. Gour Hari Bose about his experience of freedom of India as he witnessed the day when our country got free from the British rule and got the independence, emphasizing the significance of Independence Day and the sacrifices made by freedom fighters.
